Jewish Peoplehood. These are not just ordinary words. It is the bridge connecting Jews living far far away from each other. And this kind of connection can not be broken with any historical or political moods.
Great example of Jewish Peoplehood could’ve been noticed last week in Odesa, Ukraine. This wonderful Jewish city was visited by a group of students from Yeshiva University, NY. They spent a week learning about history of Jewish Odesa as well as giving any possible volunteer aid. Whole Sunday, June 9, students from USA spent together with pears from JCC “Migdal”, Odesa.
Introduction to life of JCC was followed by musical, dance and art master-classes. Lots of emotions and joy were already high enough but yet to be followed by a highlight of the day – Cooking master-class! And that wasn’t just cooking, but performing presents students brought to elderly in the Warm Houses.
Students both from Yeshiva University and JCC “Migdal” enjoyed communicating with each other, learning about traditions of their communities.
