Mazl Tov Center’s program was developed for kids from 0 to 6 years of age and their parents. It serves as an effective educational – aesthetic complex for the early aged based on the most advanced pedagogical approaches. We focus on dynamic growth of children’s unlimited capabilities to ensure their future success in life.
Our main goal is to provide children with the type of education, which will contribute to their acute brain, intellectual, and physical development. According to modern research, the development of intellectual abilities depend on the stimulation and development of the children’s brain at the most critical time of their life from birth till 3 years of age. All other abilities, needs, feelings and creativity, develop later and are based on what has been already formed.
Yiddishkeit is at the heart of this program. The purpose of Jewish upbringing is determined in the blessing of a new-born: le-Torah, le-huppa, le-maasim tovim – “for the Torah, for chuppah, for good deeds”. Teaching children from an early age to put a coin into a tzedakah-box (box for donations), to touch mezuzah (symbol of the Jewish home – cozy and hospitable), telling Jewish parables are the ways we explain to children what is good and what is evil.
Young children who learn Jewish traditions whether it is wearing a kippah, building a sukkah on Sukkot, lighting Chanukah candles and playing dreidels, wearing Purim masks and asking four Pesach questions with matzo, will naturally use their knowledge throughout their lives in the future. We also emphasize chesed (kindness) to prevent children from feeling unhappy or underprivileged.
Classes are held 3 times a week for newborns and children up to 2 years old. At this stage, both children and their parents learn early development skills together. This is very important, because within the first two years of life children make most of the progress in their personal development, more than during their entire future life.
Classes for children between 2-5 years of age focus on personal and intellectual development. At this age it is vital to increase both active and passive vocabulary of the child. Speech development is closely connected with the level of thinking and memory. Children improve their perception, memory, mode of thinking, and motion abilities while playing games. In role playing children copy the actions of the grown-ups. Behavioral norms corresponding to the sex of the child, as well as moral notions and concepts are developed at this age. Leadership and organizational skills are mastered in group playing as well.
Classes for children between 5-6 years of age master their ability to plan their actions, their imagination and practical thinking, and form motivation for success. The development of imagination at this age takes place not only in playing but also in the process of free creative activities, art classes, music and dance sessions. We also emphasize development of logical and abstract thinking, communication skills, sociability, sensitivity and persistence for this age group.
