Dear Friends,
We are happy to share our great progress report with you! Since we took our operations online at the end of March due to the COVID-19 Quarantine, our numbers in May alone show that about 12,000 people participated in various online Migdal’s programs and events!
The geography of IP addresses traced to Migdal’s Zoom is very impressive: Ukraine, Israel, Germany, America, Hong Kong, Spain, Hungary, Switzerland, the Balkans, Turkey, Austria, Belarus, Moscow, Murmansk, Siberia, Latvia , Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Finland, Denmark. Our online programs drastically expanded our “borders” and are now accessible worldwide! People from all over the world now can enjoy true value of our unique events!
Mazel Tov, an early development center beloved by children and their parents, conducted over 100 lessons for the youngest and released about 15 educational videos on the YouTube channel with over 600 visits per month! These videos included classes in mathematics and reading, games and exercises on logic, thinking, attention and memory, English lessons and master classes in drawing and paper modeling. In addition, from Sunday to Thursday, teachers conducted live classes on the Zoom platform – 5-6 lessons per day. The lessons were intended for children from 8 months to 6 years, however, some parents and even grandparents were happy to join master classes as well!
Active Jewish Teens (AJT) visited different countries virtually and learned how Jewish teens live there. For a month they held more than 30 meetings and master classes, which were attended by 578 people. Active Jewish parents (AJP) went on virtual “gatherings” almost every evening with the best lecturers from around the world. Audience numbers reached 626 people during May 21 meeting!
The Jewish Museum of Odesa continues to acquaint viewers from all over the world with its exhibits and the history of the Jews of Odesa. More than 50 videos have been posted for those interested in YouTube, and 2,300 people have already watched them! The Pour le Chance Theater conducted stage-lesson twice a week and prepared its online production for release.
Who said that quarantine has to be boring, sad and lonely? The team game “Jews on Quarantine Quiz” was attended by 456 people. 121 people played in lechaim -quiz on shpillka.net. Dance groups of boys, girls and Krav Maga club continued their classes online and are ready to accept newcomers to their groups.
Freedom Project continued to pair up teenagers with disadvantaged and at risk children, who met with each other online regularly. Our teenagers also actively helped elders during the quarantine as well. What could be more real than so much needed food products and other goods delivered to the doors of people at risk? Over 60 volunteers took part in various events helping them to survive quarantine!
We all are waiting for the day when we don’t need to wear masks anymore. Meanwhile, Migdal keeps accumulating so much new knowledge and internal energy, that when this day comes, we will be ready to compete with Elon Musk!
