Over 500 community members of all ages were involved in the 26th anniversary celebration of the oldest JCC on the territory of the FSU – Migdal JCC of Odesa.
There were a few celebrations during the two days with February 4 morning party being the central one. Not only did it gather the largest number – some 350 people – but its peculiarity was the teens’ team being masters of the ceremony and initiators of most creative performances of the day. Beginning with babies and toddlers with their mothers and up to teenagers – everyone was dancing, singing, reciting and acting. “Most of these kids were born and have grown up under the roof of the JCC. Their parents came as JCC programs’ participants, many formed their families and then have been Mazel Tov program activists. It is so rewarding now to see that the investment we have made is worth that. Our teenagers and young people are now volunteers in the JCC and other programs, teenagers are active in AJT movement.
They launch their projects, come up with ideas and ways to implement them”, Kira Verkhovskaya, Migdal Chairman of Board says.
