This year’s Passover is certainly going to be unforgettable, especially for the Jews of Ukraine. We are being reminded again and again what it really means to be free as the fight for freedom continues in the painful devastation of war in Ukraine.
Our hearts are broken, but we are united! Jewish unity worldwide is a major strength that moved us through all times of unimaginable suffering throughout the centuries and allowed us to survive.
We want to thank our friends from New York and Congregation Beth Sholom for this unity and help to our families in Odesa in this time of war! Sixty families in Odesa received Passover gift packages today to make sure that everyone can properly prepare for the holiday and participate in a Passover seder.
Migdal’s volunteers even created special “war” Keara, a Passover dish, so each family can set up their table with everything that is supposed to be on the table during the seder. For those who could not come to receive their gift packages, Migdal’s volunteers delivered it to their homes.
The timeless words of the Passover Haggadah say Kol dichfin yeitei v’yeichol—let all who are hungry, come and eat. We want to wish everyone a Happy Passover and strength through unity to lead us all to freedom!
